Wild about you

Another wild about you card. This card uses stampin up wild about you and priceless. I used certainly celery, apricot appeal and pretty in pink ink with the different priceless stamps to make the background paper. Then the lion was done in apricot. fun - fun!

Happy Friday. This is my first card for a 'bloggers challenge.' The bloggers challenge is sponsored by 'Designs by Lisa Somerville' and the link to her site is http://www.lisasomerville.com/

The challenge today was a sketch challenge, so I followed the layout with a rose image from the stampin up retired stamp set 'Wild Rose.' The sentiment is from stampin up's 'Thoughts & Prayers.'

A girl I work with just heard this week that her aunt died suddenly from heart failure. Her aunt was 68 years old and the sudden death really rocked the family. I never like to have to send a sympathy card, but when I do, I try to add an extra level of perfection to it. It seems appropriate to make it just right. I'll mail this to her tomorrow to let her know that I'm thinking of her and that I care.

As for colors, I used very vanilla, old olive, cameo coral and the new 'in color' melon mambo. Because the pink is dark, I added a very vanilla layer to the inside and added the sentiment and a small rose.

I really like the color combination and will try to remember to use it again in the future.

A little birdie in pretty in pink

This card uses the retired stampin up set 'a little birdie.' I used pretty in pink, certainly celery and instead of plain white paper, I used watercolor paper for the background and the bird.

Hello There!

Hello! Today it is HOT, HOT, HOT. Another over 90 degree day. They say the heat wave will end tonight. I will be glad to have cooler, less humid days.

Today's card is one I made last spring. It uses Tangerine Tango from SU, along with Pacific Point and Kiwi Kiss.

I had some of the students from my son's highschool come over last spring to learn to make cards. I had them make this one and it was one of the favorites.

watercolor flower pots card

Okay, I know mothers day was a while ago, but I made this same card for my sisters birthday a few weeks ago, so it's still relevant. I love working with watercolors on stamped images. This one is a little different, in that the water coloring is intentionally 'not in the lines.'

This one I call 'Dandylions.' They are so cute. I plan to send this card to my World Vision Child - Enala. Our family supports a 10 year old girl in Malawi Africa. As her sponsor we are encouraged to send notes and letters periodically. I thought she may enjoy this one, since cute animals and flowers/plants are probably a good universal language.

The color scheme here is stampin up chocolate chip, apricot appeal and cameo coral.

Butterfly Card

My daughter (Sarah Monroe) came up with the design for this card. It's so sweet and summery. She used the Razzleberry ink with old olive. The colors are really nice.

I made this thank you card using the Inspired by Nature set by stampin up. I used the markers to ink the stamp, then matted the image on same color paper.

New Blogger!

I am now really cool. I just created my Blog! I am very happy to be part of the blogging world. I created my blog so I could post my hand made cards online and participate in a card making 'bloggers challenge.' So now that I have a blog, I am 'in' the club! Starting this Friday (August 21st) I plan to do a card a week with the challenge. Check back and see what's new each week!
